History of Sperian Timeline

  • 1957: Christian Dalloz is created by Christian Dalloz in France.
  • 1974: Henry Bacou SA is created by henry Bacou in France.
  • 1979: The first international establishment is set up by bacou in Spain.
  • 1986: Dalloz enters the stock market. It ends up on the unlisted Second Market in Lyon.
  • 1989: Amercan WGM Safety Corp is bought out by Dalloz.
  • 1993: Uvex is acquired after the creation of Bacou USA.
  • 1996: Bacou USA becomes part of the New York stock exchange.
  • 1997: The Bacou group becomes established in Shanghai, China.
  • 1990-2001: Dalloz acquires Pulsafe, Bilsom, Troll, Moxham, Komet, Fendall, and Soll.
  • 1990-2001: Bacou acquires Survivair, Perfect Fit, Howard Leight, Biosystems, Optrel, Titmus, Ox’Bridge and Delta Protection.
  • September 2001: the Bacou-Dalloz group is created. This is following the merger between the Bacou Group and Christian Dalloz.    
  • 2003: Securitex is acquired by the Bacou-Dalloz Group.
  • 2004: Divestiture of Abrium, which is a French distribution subsidiary.
  • Sept. 2006: Divestiture of Sunoptics, manufacturer and designer of high-end solar lenses for sun glasses manufacturers for the fashion and sports markets.
  • Dec. 2006: Epicon is acquires through a manufacturer of respiratory masks in Brazil.
  • June 2007: Nacre was acquired. This company is a World leading company in tactical, miniature, communications headsets with built in noise protection.
  • August 2007: Bacou now becomes Sperian.
  • Aug. 2008: Combisafe is acquired., They are a supplier of height safety and access systems.
  • Sept. 2008:doseBusters is aquired. They are a pioneer in personal noise dosimetry technology.
  • Dec. 2008: Musitani is aquired. They are the market leader in fall protection in Argentina.

Christian Dalloz

This group was developed by Christian Dalloz in 1957. The focus was to produce industrial components made with injection-molded plastics. The group became a leading producer of polycarbonate eyewear.

The company introduced Christian Dalloz S.A to the stock market in 1986. It also entered the American market. In 1989, they acquired WGM safety group. This group is a leader in head and fall protection in the United States

Bacou

This group was founded by Henry Bacou in 1974. They initially manufactured footwear in France. There were many acquisitions made with this company through the years. Distributors were also acquired. All of these companies were merged under the name Bacou Developpement.

In 1993, Bacou USA was created. In 1994 they acquired Uvex Safety. They were entered on the New York stock exchange until it merged with Christian Dalloz in 2001. The company went on and continued to acquire other companies and gain power.
